    Sinking Without Trace...

Apologies for the shortish post today-I've been busy with other things so haven't really had time to produce anything beyond a swift news round-up...however, Round the Rinks will appear in its now regular Friday slot as early as possible tomorrow. Meanwhile, in today's round-up, more worries in the South and another new leader at the top of the Elite League...

David Taylor in more trouble: More worrying news for Bracknell Bees fans-David Taylor's financial difficulties are now a matter of public record as his business closes down "temporarily". Given that the tone of the announcements is exactly the same as those issued with regard to the Bees and the Bison over previous weeks (i.e: "there's nothing going on out of the ordinary, everything is fine") I wouldn't be too happy if I were a Bees fan and also one of the tenants...and even less if I were David Taylor himself, who now not only has to contend with the hatred of a few thousand ice hockey fans but also the possible collapse of his very livelihood-a fate you wouldn't wish on anyone.

Cardiff complete their rise..: It's something that even the most rabid Devils fan would have had trouble believing in September, but the South Wales side are now top of the Elite League after thumping Edinburgh 8-3 last night in the Big Blue Tent, with two goals each from Tyson Teplitsky and Brad Voth providing the highlights of their eleventh win in a row, and now means the Devils have only lost once in their last seventeen games! The rest of the league should be very, very afraid...although that winning run comes up against the formidable obstacle of the Blaze at the Skydome on Saturday...

And there you go. A relatively quiet day in EIHL land, but it all hots up tomorrow with the approach of the weekend-check back tomorrow for this week's Round the Rinks, and keep keeping your eye on the puck...
